We’re excited to introduce Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT)

What Is Radial Shockwave Therapy?

Radial Shockwave Therapy is an evidence-based, non-invasive treatment that delivers controlled acoustic pressure waves into soft tissue. This innovative technology is highly effective for chronic pain and soft tissue injuries that haven’t responded to conventional care. These waves help stimulate the body’s healing processes, reduce inflammation, break down scar tissue, and decrease pain by acting directly on nerve pathways and cellular function and is now available at our Uprise Health Bundoora clinic

Conditions Commonly Treated

  • Plantar fasciitis & heel spurs
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Tennis elbow / Golfer’s elbow
  • Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee)
  • Calcific shoulder tendinopathy
  • Shin splints
  • Hip, gluteal, or hamstring pain
  • Myofascial trigger points / muscle knots

This treatment is ideal for chronic, stubborn conditions and tendon-related pain.

How does Radial Shockwave Therapy Work? Healing from the Inside Out

Radial shockwaves stimulate:

  • Increased blood circulation to the injured area
  • Tissue regeneration and collagen production
  • Breakdown of calcifications or scar tissue
  • Desensitisation of nerve endings, especially those carrying pain signals

Reduces Substance P

Radial Shockwave therapy helps reduce levels of Substance P, a neurotransmitter involved in pain perception and inflammation. High levels of Substance P are associated with chronic pain and nerve hypersensitivity. By reducing its concentration, shock wave therapy lowers pain intensity, decreases local swelling, and improves tissue recovery — especially in long-standing or recurrent injuries.

Radial Shockwave Therapy Session Duration & Pricing

  • Treatment Time: 15–20 minutes
  • Add-on Cost: $40 when added to an existing appointment (e.g., chiropractic or remedial massage massage)
  • Stand-Alone Session: $71

Most patients benefit from a short series of 4–6 weekly sessions to see its effects
