Things We Treat
Chronic Pain
Persistent pain that has lasted beyond expected healing time.
Pain is considered chronic or persistent when it continues beyond the usual healing time for an injury, typically longer than three months.
Persistent pain involves changes in how the nervous system processes signals, which is why it doesn't always match what's visible on a scan — and why care needs to address more than tissue alone.
Common symptoms

How we can help
- We take time to understand your history, what you've already tried and what matters most to you, then set goals around function rather than pain scores alone.
- A multidisciplinary approach helps here — hands-on care, graded activity, Chinese medicine, nutrition and coordination with your GP can all play a role.

Frequently asked questions
- Does chronic pain mean something is still damaged?
- Not necessarily. Persistent pain often continues after tissues have healed, because the nervous system remains sensitised. Understanding this is often an important part of management.
- Is a care plan available through Medicare?
- Some patients qualify for a GP Chronic Disease Management plan covering a limited number of allied health sessions each year. Ask your GP whether you're eligible.
