Infrared Sauna: What It Does and Who It's For

Infrared saunas have become a popular recovery tool — and for good reason. Unlike a traditional sauna that heats the air around you, an infrared sauna uses infrared light to warm your body directly. That means a deep, comfortable sweat at lower air temperatures, which many people find far more tolerable.

Why people use it

People book infrared sauna sessions for a range of reasons, most commonly:

  • Muscle recovery after training or a big work week
  • Easing general aches and muscular tension
  • Relaxation and stress relief
  • Supporting circulation and a general sense of wellbeing

A great partner to hands-on treatment

Heat relaxes muscles and increases blood flow, which is why many of our patients combine a sauna session with remedial massage or chiropractic care. Warm, relaxed tissue responds well to treatment — ask our team about the best order for your sessions.

What a session involves

Sessions run in a private cabin. You'll sit or recline while the infrared panels warm your body; most people read, listen to music or simply switch off. Hydrate before and after, and let our team know if you have any cardiovascular conditions, are pregnant, or are unsure whether sauna is appropriate for you.

How often should you go?

That depends on your goals. Some people use it weekly as part of a recovery routine; others book around heavy training blocks or stressful periods. Casual single sessions are available at both clinics, with multi-session packs for regular users.
